K.A.P. After School Program starts at 3pm and ends at 6pm. However, we do have extended hours until 6:30pm. The Board of Education provides free transportation to the After School Program from any Yonkers Public School (including The Charter School of Exellence) regardless of whether you currently qualify for transportation or not.

Upon arriving to the After School Program the kids have a snack and Socialization time begins. This helps the kids to unwind after a long day of School, work on their communication skills and build friendships. After that, Homework Time starts. The kids are broken down into groups based on their grade and learning levels, the kids are seated with an instructor to oversee the completion of Homework. We have a Homework sheet that is signed everyday by an nstructor to communicate with the Parent and the Teacher. The Teacher is expected to  "sign off " on the Form confirming that all Homework is completed to our teachers standards.

After Homework the Kids go to their respective activity groups like Soccer, Flag Football, Basketball, Dance and Cheerleading, etc.

K.A.P. News is our Television Show that airs on Cablevision. The Show is new but stay tuned and hopefully you'll get a chance to see your child on television delivering the News, playing sports, Modeling or Acting in commercials. We implemented K.A.P News with the vision of increasing our kids self esteem, strengthening their cconfidence and giving them a career path at a young age. It's absolutely amazing!  If u don't have Cablevision no need to worry, we do have DVD's of the Show available. Our show times are subject to change every quarter so stay connected to this website for updated information.

Now more than ever, kids need summer camp.  According to health officials, the risk of transmitting COVID-19 in an outdoor enviroment like camp is low, but the benefits of socialization, exercise, and learning would be tremendous.

The KAP team is taking steps to keep campers and staff safe this summer by implementing guidelines from CDC and New York State Department of Health.  KAPs team priority is to provide a safe and fun enviroment while adhering to the CDC and Department of Health guidelies and are committed to sharing timely communications with our families.  We've designed our COVID-19  safety plan to be flexible, so we can adapt and refine our responses.

KAP summer program safety protocols include the following:

*Daily symptom screening and temperature checks for camper and staff

*Monitoring health of campers throughout the day.

*Requiring all staff to wear masks

*Cleaning and disinfecting all activity areas, equipment, and supplies

*Mandatory handwashing between activities

*Providing EPA approved soap and hand sanitizer at activity and food locations

*Reducing groups limited to no more than 10 campers with 2 staff

*Maintaining the same group of 10 campers and dedicated staff the enitre 5 weeks of camp

*Maintaining safe social distancing between groups

*Having trained medical staff on-site<< New text box >>
